What to Bring When You Try on Dresses

Shoes – If you have a pair you think you’ll use with your prom dress, bring them! They will give you height, and then you’ll know if you need to hem the dress, or if it’s already the correct length.



Sticky Bra – If you have one, these are great for trying on dresses. This way, if the consultant needs to help you in the fitting room, you’re covered. Also, they will give you a more accurate idea of how the gown will fit, since you might wear it underneath anyway.



Jewelry – If you own some that you’d like to re-use, bring it with you. If you’ve got a favorite piece or grandma’s earrings, the dress you choose may depend on the accessories you want to wear.



Mom – She’ll give an honest, trustworthy opinion, and I’ve never known a mom to steer her daughter wrong (Plus, if she’s paying for it, she is more likely to say yes if she knows what you’re wearing!).
