Incase you haven't heard, Mestads EXCLUSIVE line of dresses, the Cool Book, are arriving weekly at all three of our locations! This year's collection promises daring prints, sweet ruffles, and looooooow backs! Be sure to be the first at your school to get your favorite, because once they're gone, they're GONE!

Remember, we register your dress to your school, so once we sell a Cool Book style, there isn't any place else to get them!

Prom 2011 is in at Southdale!

It's time ladies! Prom 2011 dresses are arriving, and they're the best of the best. Come in and start dreaming of what you'll wear to prom this spring. The best styles go fast, so don't wait too long!

JOVANI Model Search - Instructions

Here are more detailed directions about our current JOVANI Model contest.

Step 1. Go to http://www.jovani.com/ and apply.

Step 2. Jovani will email your application to Mestads, since we are the OFFICIAL representative for Minnesota.

Step 3. A Mestads representative will contact you to schedule a casting call time during Thanksgiving weekend.

Step 4. We will narrow down to 10 candidates and submit them to Jovani.

Step 5. Jovani will upload the images to their website, and the public will vote on our top ten.

Step 6. After a glamorous in store fashion show, we will announce the Minnesota winner, who will receive a free Jovani prom gown, free Jovani shoes, and a Jovani watch!

Step 7. Jovani will choose one Grand Prize winner from all state finalists, and they will receive a 5 Star trip to New York City!

Halloween Costumes

I love Lady Gaga as much as the next little monster, but let’s not all be her for Halloween, k? Halloween parties should smell like candy and not beef jerky.

Mestads Southdale has prom dresses starting at just $25, many of which would make an awesome, unique, and glamorous Halloween costume. Here are a few of our ideas, but come in and see what else you can come up with:

·         Glampire: Pick your favorite black, red or purple gown, pair it with a cape and fangs, and you’re good to go!

·         Dream Girls: Pair any sequined gown with a huge bouffant wig, grab a microphone, and hit your favorite karaoke party!

·         80’s Madonna: We still have a few short, white, lace cocktail dresses, perfect for any Material Girl! Pair it with white lace boots, crimp your hair, and I DARE you to find a belt that says “Boy Toy”!

St. Paul Winter Carnival Royalty

The St. Paul Winter Carnival is fast-approaching, have you thought about running for Queen of Snows?

St. Paul Winter Carnival Mission

To foster a sense of community, pride, belonging and connectedness by celebrating Saint Paul's unique history and emerging heritage through fun and educational experiences.

The Queen of the Snows program is open to women over age 21 who are also high school graduates. There are no restrictions on marital status, dependants, place of residence, or employment status.

Candidates are encouraged to run based upon their appropriateness as ambassadors of goodwill for the Winter Carnival and the City of Saint Paul. Qualifications include good interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to the requirements that are necessary to fulfill the one-year term as a Queen or Princess.

Criteria for the Queen and Princesses include:

♦ Ability to communicate effectively one-on-one as well as in a group
♦ Ability to speak in public
♦ Poise in various circumstances
♦ Outgoing and friendly personality
♦ Well-groomed appearance
♦ Ability to work as a team
♦ Ability to make the time commitment
♦ Commitment to properly represent the Saint Paul Winter Carnival and the City of Saint Paul
